Singapore Results and Championship Standings (13/19)

Congratulations to Dead Jedi on their first win of the season and Dragan and Jasper94 for their fifth and second podiums respectively. Vettel, Vettel, Red Bull pickers were looking like taking maximum points until the last lap when Webber unfortunately retired.

There's been a bit of shake up and here are the overall standings now:

Podium (see post for further results)

Constructors Championship

For constructors, so not to disadvantage teams with only one driver (or to protect against someone who doesn't post), players will score points in line with race finishes. See the overall results from Italy below, Dead Jedi will score 25 points for his 1st place this weekend. This is different to how the drivers championship will be scored. If players are tied they will be separated by the following criteria: Race > Constructors > Qualifying > Random > The time of the pick (earlier the better).

Singapore - F1 Prediction League (Round 13)

Singapore is a unique race on the calendar as F1's first night race, although it's status as the only night race in F1 is under threat. From 2014 Bahrain is set to host a night race too. The look and feel of Singapore makes this race a special one, at least in person, although the races themselves have not always been the most exciting.

Saying that the Singapore race has always had some fairly big implications for the championship e.g. Massa's pit problem in 2008 or Vettel's dominance (after Hamilton's retirement) last year setting up an impressive streak.
With Vettel's dominance continuing this year, it would take a brave person to predict another driver winning this weekend outright. Should Vettel's dominance continue there is rumours that the FIA will ban players from picking Vettel to make races more entertaining. This legislation would certainly take a round or two to implement though.

To refresh your memories, here's a quick round-up of the standings so far:

Random Category for Singapore

Which two drivers will lose the most positions on the opening lap?

Fairly self-explanatory, which two drivers will lose the most positions from their grid position to the end of lap one. DNF's count as 0 if the driver does not complete a full lap.

I will use FORIX to work out the results (as well as attempting to catch the order myself on live f1 timing, to protect against any obvious mistakes with FORIX) e.g.

This category will be graded against other prediction league players, as follows:

Best picker - 3 points
2nd and 3rd - 2 points
4th, 5th and 6th - 1 point

If ties exist, the order of picking will be used to decide how many points are scored.

Post your picks in the following format -

Random: D1 - ; D2 - .

The deadline for Singapore picks is Friday 20th September 11:00 GMT (before FP1).

Italy Results and Championship Standings (12/19)

Congratulations to MetalGatherer on their second win of the season! Also well done to both Lotus drivers who again challenged to both finish on the podium. There seem to be several distinct groups developing in the prediction league, there is a tie for the lead and 3rd to 6th are very close now as well as 7th to 9th and 10th to 13th. Once again a reminder that when things go wrong they can cost a lot of points, for example Hamilton pickers in qualifying dropped 8 points compared to Vettel pickers.

Here are the overall standings now:

Italy - F1 Prediction League (Round 12)

In form with the results, I'll have to post an abridged version of the usual thread so people can make their picks.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Random Category for Monza

Which team will have the greatest combined speed trap speed for their fastest two cars in practices 1, 2 and 3?

With the heavy emphasis on top speed around Monza, the following category is only fitting. The winner will be the one who predicts the team correctly, although there will be 2 points for the 2nd best team and 1 point for the 3rd best.

The results will be a tally of:

Driver 1 P1 (speed in kph/mph)
Driver 2 P1
(speed in kph/mph)
Driver 1 P2 (speed in kph/mph)
Driver 2 P2 (speed in kph/mph)
Driver 1 P3 (speed in kph/mph)
Driver 2 P3 (speed in kph/mph)

The results will be decided using formula1.com.

Spa Results and Championship Standings (11/19)

Sorry for the overdue update, I've been moving houses and haven't had time or resource until today. This week's results will be a bit abridged but I promise that the Monza results will be back up to the quality of previous races.
