Bahrain Results and Championship Standings (4/19)

Overall Standings

More troubles for Alonso and Red Bull domination brings about a range of scores. Well done to the previously struggling Aled Lewis for a very well deserved race weekend victory as well as Kim who's jumped up to second in the standings after the fantastic weekend.

Constructors Championship

For constructors, so not to disadvantage teams with only one driver (or to protect against someone who doesn't post), players will score points in line with race finishes. See the overall results from Bahrain below, Aled Lewis will score 25 points for his 1st place this weekend. This is different to how the drivers championship will be scored. If players are tied they will be separated by the following criteria: Race > Constructors > Qualifying > Random > The time of the pick (earlier the better).

Random update

Joe and Aled Lewis have already scored 3 points for random so well done on a fantastic pick. 2nd and 3rd places are still very much up for grabs, an early retirement for a driver could be very beneficial/costly.

Please comment if you have any questions. Good luck for the weekend!

Bahrain - F1 Prediction League (Round 4)

Round four of the championship and the second consecutive week of racing, it's time for Bahrain!

Bahrain should be different to China for many reasons so don't expect a repeat of last weekend. Temperatures should soar to 35 degrees centigrade and the track should offer up some different challenges to the unusual Shanghai circuit.

Just a quick round-up of the standings so far:

Random Category for Bahrain

Which number 2 driver in the championship will beat their teammate the most over the weekend?

Choices: Webber (Red Bull), Massa (Ferrari), Perez (McLaren), Grosjean (Lotus), Rosberg (Mercedes), Gutierrez (Sauber), Sutil (Force India), Maldonado (Williams), Vergne (Toro Rosso), Van der Garde (Caterham) or Chilton (Marussia).

This random includes all seven sessions plus the fastest lap. If a driver takes part in Q2 and/or Q3 and their teammate doesn't then they automatically win the session.

Ties will be separated by a number of deciders.

Firstly the best time difference during the race for the selected driver compared to their teammate e.g if:
  • Rosberg beats Hamilton by 10 seconds in the race
  • Sutil beats Di Resta by 20 seconds
  • Maldonado loses to Bottas in the race
  • And they are all on the same amount of 'wins'
Then Sutil would win followed by Rosberg etc.

Should one retire this method will not be possible therefore the best time difference for qualifying will be the next decider. This will apply to the best lap time across all qualifying sessions for each driver.

Points will only be scored for the top three picks, three points for the best etc.

Another fascinating race capped off, full of different strategies and an exciting finish. Ferrari and Alonso were definitely the direction to go this weekend, well done on an amazing debut by Ediglo.

Here is an update for the random category, it's important which position each driver finishes rather than their grid position but hopefully this gives a decent idea of what could happen tomorrow.

China - F1 Prediction League (Round 3)

Round 3 of 19 is upon us. After a three week break the teams will be raring to go. Who knows, there may be a surprise or two in store. All the top teams are bullish about their prospects so this weekend could be crucial one in the F1 prediction league as any could win.

Will Rosberg continue his scintillating form and win? Or will it be Alonso and Vettel fighting it out for the top step again?

Random Category for China

Which driver will make the biggest improvement between P1 and the race?

This random is purely based on positions. So who will finish in the highest relative position compared to their practice 1 position?

If Sutil finishes 6th in P1 and 5th in the race, he will score 1 point. The best possible position is your driver finishing 22nd in P1 and 1st in the race and vice versa for the worst possible result.

Like in the last random category, points will be scored in the following manner:

If two drivers are tied the higher race finishing position will be favoured.
